We talk a lot about superheroes around here and believe us when we say that we do know a thing or two about these larger than life characters. It’s just about this time every year, however, when we humbly have to admit that there is one heroic character that stands heads and shoulders above the rest–and it’s not physical stature we are talking about. When it comes to superheroes, let’s get real. There is none so epically multi-talented, majorly influential, courageous, and loving as well as being the supreme master of justice than dear old mom. We’re pretty sure you’ll agree. Here’s our list of all the legit super-heroic traits that moms possess!
She’s Always With You. There is something almost magical about mom’s ability to make her presence known, even when she is not physically there–right? That voice in your head, that nagging feeling, that oh-so- comforting reassurance–a mother’s influence is something we carry with us each and every day.
Mom Can Read Your Mind. A mother’s psychic abilities can go toe to toe with the best of our superhero friends. A mother has an uncanny ability to read your mind–she knows what’s going on in that head of yours and she also knows what you need. And speaking of truth, a mother carries her own unique brand of truth serum–most kids know mom can always get to the truth, in spite of the most valiant efforts to conceal it. Additionally, when you want an honest answer, as painful as it may be, your mom, sometimes in the most brutal way, will always speak the truth.
Mom Multi-Tasks Like a BOSS! No one really knows how she does it, but mom can do at least ten things at once, maybe even a few more. She can keep all her tasks (and your schedule) straight, too!
A Mom has Superhuman Patience. From the sleepless nights of infancy through college graduation, moms have had plenty of opportunities to hone and fine tune the skills of patience. She’s likely a pro at counting to ten, and she knows a few things about deep breathing, too.
A Mother is Persistent. A mother is never, ever going to give up on her kid–thus when all the cards are stacked against you, your mom will still be standing in your corner. You will always have a number one fan, and it’s always going to be your mom.
Mom has Endless Tenacity. Motherhood is not for weenies, and mom proves over and over again that she is indefatigable, resilient, and has super strength and toughness to boot–all on precious little sleep, mind you. If fact, it may even seem that mom is at her best when she’s working under pressure.
Mom has Superhuman Love. Everyone knows that a mother’s most super power of all comes in her ability to love. A mother’s hug can heal the pains of the worst of days, and her kiss makes all the difference when we are feeling pain. “Let me kiss it better” is her mantra and amazingly enough, that kiss is just what the doctor ordered.
Mom Keeps Order Like an Army General. Hey, someone has to keep the troops in line, right? No one does it better than mom. With just the legendary “mom look,” or a little well-phrased sentence, mom can create harmony out of chaos. Mom is also a calm voice of reason when things go totally awry.
Mom Knows Your Potential. Mom always sees your best self and knows your untapped potential, too–particularly when you aren’t quite living up to it. Mom believes in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself. Your mom has this crazy innate ability to know what’s needed even when you don’t have a clue.
Protective Instincts. Moms are born with a set of mama bear kind of instincts that help her, even in the most perilous and dangerous kinds of circumstances. When this mama bear comes out to play–watch out. Mom can ferociously face her own fears head on and will risk life and limb for her children and family.
Mother Knows Best. We all have our moments of fighting with our mom’s, but when everything comes full circle, most of the time we have to admit the obvious truth–mom was probably right.
Happy Mother’s Day from your friends at Halloween Express!
